Scripture Union New Zealand’s (SUNZ) mission is to work with churches to create opportunities for children and young people to discover and follow Jesus, grow as leaders and influence our world.
SUNZ is part of the wider Scripture Union Global organisation, which operates in over 130 countries worldwide. In New Zealand, they have a vibrant Children and Families ministry and a thriving Youth ministry. They have a strong history in Christian camping and hold events and conferences to resource and upskill ministries in churches across the country.
Reporting to the National Director, the Marketing Specialist plays a crucial role in SUNZ’s corporate office, which supports all of the organisation’s activities. SUNZ’s activities reach thousands of people each year across the country.
You will take responsibility for the development and implementation of all marketing and communications at SUNZ, which will include:
  • Developing and delivering the marketing strategic plan (in conjunction with the National Director)
  • Maintaining and developing marketing channels (email, social media, digital and print)
  • Creating new and managing existing content for a variety of channels, including SUNZ’s Adventure Magazine
  • Creating and developing video content
  • Analysing and reporting on the performance of marketing campaigns
  • Optimising end-to-end marketing through analytic tools and refining lead management
  • Building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Owning and communicating brand identity and guidelines
Person Profile:
  • Tertiary level qualification in marketing, with 2-3 years relevant experience
  • Experience in developing marketing strategies and tactics for a range of target markets
  • Sound experience developing and producing marketing and communications resources for a broad range of audiences
  • Experienced in using a wide variety of marketing channels including website, print, online and social media
  • A high level of maturity and exceptional relationship management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality results and projects to tight timeframes
  • The ability to problem solve, use initiative and display sound judgement
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of marketing tools, such as CMS, CRM systems, Google Analytics, Survey Monkey and email campaign platforms
  • Understanding of, respect for, and the ability to work within SUNZ’s mission, principles, and Christian ethos
